US Treasury yields see moderate losses
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The Treasury yields in the US are trading moderately lower ahead of the Fed minutes of the March meeting, which, according to analysts, are unlikely to provide any major surprises.
The 10-year yield in the US retreated 1.7 basis points (bps) to 1.876%, while the 30-year yield fell 1.8 bps to 2.512%. However, at the short-end of the curve – the 2-year yield and the 1-year yield- we do not see any changes.
The FOMC minutes due for release today certainly have the potential to cause massive waves in the markets. However, it remains to be seen if the minutes manage to alter the rate hike expectations in a significant way.
